Roundbrush Studies

So, I had to learn how to digitally paint. My professor assigned us to do 4 studies on photoshop. I've definitely learned a lot, but I wish I had time to get everything done the way I like them, and on time.

Silly mini comic

I had an RA reapplication presentation the other day. For creative points, I did another minicomic, hence the KAT: THE RA 2 part of it, since I did one last year.

I have this strange thing when I'm pushed against time/ its nearing bedtime, I think I'm absolutely hilarious. So this was a lot funnier as I drew it.

Line Tests

Coming off of the previous post, I had also done the line tests out of 2/5 environments  from my thumbnails. These took a lot longer than I thought, so I didn't quite finish the color tests, I only managed simple mood coloring. I may post the finished color tests, or I might not, considering it's getting quite close to a finished drawing (relatively speaking)

Here are the two areas I chose. I'm still experimenting with industrialization and Iceland (google the place, it is a God for pretty.) I did a factory, who is harnessing/abusing the power of a wolf stave to manufacture ____. And then I chose the witch's cottage. In the middle of ice, of Iceland.

Fun Fact: Iceland is known to be green, and Greenland is known to be ice. But Iceland does indeed have ICE, it's in the form of hot springs. How about that.

Concept Shenanigans

So, for my favorite class this quarter, a full-speed train to the face, conceptual illustration, we have to design a video game, over the span of a quarter. In a matter of a day, I had to come up with the synopsis. In a synopsized synopsis, I have this action-adventure game based on Red Riding Hood. The protagonist, currently named "Hood," joins the league of deliverymen to survive in an Industrialized Iceland. With her trusty Wolf Halberd (axe-sword), she completes deliveries, and collects magic staves in order to find her long-lost grandmother, unknowingly, the antagonist of the game.

Still working out the kinks of that, but for the first assignment, called environments, I first had to create these pretty sloppy b/w thumbnails. Behold, all 200 of them.

CLASSES!

I'm well into winter quarter by now, but I'm taking Digital Coloring and Conceptual Illustration. Much to my demise, I did not anticipate all my projects/work to be digital (except for digital coloring, if I didn't expect digital work, I have much to learn in life)

But yes! Mucho fun.

Here was my first assignment in digital coloring, I spent more time than I should've, apparently.
And it is indeed a decapitated munny head.

Getting started

I've got to start this thing sometime, what better time to do it then in the dead of the quarter!

Here's my final painting from last quarter. I wanted to do something panoramic-y, and in watercolors. Oil paints are my arch nemisis.
